Founded in 2015, SourceScrub provides deal-ready data, purpose-built tools, and on-demand data operations to give firms a decisive advantage so they never miss a deal.
Founding Story

Insider Beginnings

While building out the business development department at Serent Capital in 2014, our founder and CEO, Tyler Fair recognized the need for a private company data service. Facing the same "data-gap" that countless other private company investors faced, he trained a team of research analysts to build a database of bootstrapped companies. Soon Tyler connected with an old childhood friend, Prescott Nasser, who also had experience in investment banking. Together they built a tech platform around the data, and in 2015 SourceScrub was born.

Eight years later, with offices in San Francisco, New York, and London, we're as committed as ever to the original vision. We're on a mission to transform the industry through the collection and organization of private company data. It's a hard problem, but one that we believe is worth while.

Our Leadership

Jim Obsitnik
CEO
Jim brings more than 30 years’ experience helping innovators in the B2B, SaaS space stay ahead of technology trends and light years in front of competitors. Before joining SourceScrub, he helped industry leaders ranging from Netscape and Taleo/Oracle to Capsilon/Ellie Mae develop and hone their growth strategies and improve customer focus. Jim loves new adventures with his family, running and snowboarding – and cheering on the Tottenham Hotspurs football club.
Jesse Phillips
CFO
In 2015, Jesse was working at a private equity firm when his friend and SouceScrub founder, Tyler Fair, called him to pitch the company’s potential. Jesse spotted the potential for the concept. Before long, his team became a SourceScrub customer, and then Jesse himself became an adviser to the company. In 2019, he joined the executive team full-time in the role of CFO. He’s an avid reader (history and biography are favorites) and relishes traveling and hiking with his wife and their dog.
Jon Dodson
CTO
Jon joined SourceScrub after 7 years at Zignal Labs, where he oversaw product, technology and data operations as CTO. His experience developing Zignal’s Media Intelligence platform honed Jon’s expertise in machine learning, which he now uses to keep SourceScrub’s products at the front of emergy technology. In his role as CTO, Jon leads the company’s team of engineers as they constantly enhance platform design, improve data science and refine production operations.
Joshua Yulish
CRO
Josh is responsible for driving SourceScrub’s revenue growth, by boosting customer acquisition, and enhancing customer experience and satisfaction. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the software/SaaS industry to this task, and his successful track record of helping fast-growing entrepreneurial companies expand globally. Living in Chicago with his wife, two children and their rescue schnoodle makes it easy for Josh to cheer on the Fighting Illini basketball team at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (his alma mater).
Mike White
CMO
The intersection of numbers and creativity is what attracted Mike to technology marketing more than 20 years ago, and drew him toSourceScrub in 2021. Mike acquired his product marketing, research and product management savvy in a series of increasingly responsible roles at fast-growing companies, culminating in top marketing roles at MarketTools, Market Metrix/Clarabridge and Webdam. He enjoys travel and writing, and shares his Bay area home with his wife, three kids– and many, many bikes, skis and guitars.
